The juniors are out for redemption at this year’s Coreografias, after finishing last in 2022.

Bringing the Energy of Egypt

Grade 11 students gearing up for a redemption tour in '23

March 23, 2023

Coreografías is right around the corner and with so much excitement roaming the hallways of Menor, here’s a sneak peak into what the 11th graders are up to.

“Coreografías is an event that brings each students passions and brings them together,” said Alegría Davíla, StuGov vice president and a junior (Grade 11).

Coreografías is a high school event in which everyone has a chance to participate. Each year a different theme is chosen and all students can bring their passion and talents to the table to create a show stopping presentation.

This year’s theme for the event is mythologies. For Grade 11, that means exploring the ideals of Egyptian mythology.

For the presentation, the dancing groups will be fully costumed as different Egyptian gods, like Ra.

The prop group has worked hard during the last couple of weeks to create the elements essential to the story with help from material provided by the rest of the grade.

The Telones team was in charge of creating the backdrop, which includes a reference to ancient Egypt with a touch of modern elements in it.

Finally, the backstage group is everything from behind the curtains from moving stuff around to helping everyone find their way in and out. All of the groups are putting all their efforts in to make the final show the best presentation ever.

“Coreografias is an event that requires a lot of hard work, teamwork and collaboration so I think people should see how big of an event it is as well as the hard work that goes behind it,” said Martin Revelo, a ClassCo for Grade 11.

With a lot of hard work and several rehearsals, the students mentioned they are ready to rock the show.

The juniors should hit the stage some time around 9 p.m. on Friday, March 24.
