Sophomores Ready for Round Two
Grade 10 students to tackle Norse Mythology at Coreografias
March 23, 2023
With the 2023 production of Coreografias just hours away, 10th graders are approaching their
second experience of participating in this great event.
Throughout the preparation process for Coreografias, 10th graders have been putting a lot of effort on props, telones, scripts, mixes and — obviously — dances.
In terms of experience, the 10th grader have only one year of participation in Coreografias, last year when
they finished third overall. But the experience from 2022 led this group to gaining a lot of knowledge about the event and learning how to improve for this year’s showing.
“I do think (we) have struggled,” said ClassCo Emilia Anker, a 10th grader. “And since it is just our second year, we are still improving.”
“The most challenging aspect is definitely organizing everything with the script, telones and props,” added classmate Camilo Rosales.
Everyone gets an opportunity to take part in Coreografias, which is a high school activity held each spring. Every year, a new theme is picked, and all students are encouraged to contribute their passions and skills to make a presentation that will blow the audience away.
This year’s theme for Coreografias is mythologies. The 10th grade has chosen to focus deeply on
Norse Mythology. The trick will be having all elements and details related to this theme organized in a way so that they can compete at a high level against other grades.
Rosales added that one unique aspect of Grade 10’s production is the desire to share the story which conveys that “there is not always an end for things and there is a cycle in life.”
After winning the Balcones competition earlier this school year, the expectations for 10th grade are high. Their production should begin around 7:30 p.m. on the covered courts.
