Maria Julia Moreno, Managing Editor

Maria Julia Moreno is a senior, and her favorite classes are Theater, Journalism and English. The one AP class that she’s taking is Spanish, because one of her hopes is to go to Spain after high school and she thought that this class will give her the most credits during her application process for university.

For her future, she hopes to be a traveling journalist, joining her passion for writing and her passion for traveling with the ability to share her experiences with others. To her, journalism is more than just a hobby, it is a passion that has awoken what she feels is her life’s purpose.

“Last year I opened a journalism club that opened a little too late so it didn’t really take off, but I suppose that I inspired the school to start a journalism class,” said Maria Julia. “I love writing.”

Something that she likes to do that not a lot of people know is going on adventures, like trail hikes in the Ecuadorian Andes. She loves surfing and in general any type of adventure. Her preferred interest is trekking. This sparked because during the pandemic it was the only way that she could leave her house and “do something that wasn’t sleeping all day.”

Maria Julia has traveled to the United States on a road trip with her sister that started in Las Vegas and ended in Salt Lake City. For one week they hiked the national parks like The Grand Canyon, Arches National Park, and her favorite, Angel’s Landing in Zion National Park.
