Maria Jose Arboleda Puma, who likes to be called “La Jose” or “Majo,” is in 11th grade at Colegio Menor.

Her favorite classes are History of Art and Music. She says those are “the only classes that let her explore the creative side of herself while still learning.”

In her free time, she likes to sing, act and dance. On campus, she participates on the basketball team and is also a member of StuGov.

Maria Jose likes any song no matter the genre, but her favorite artists are Taylor Swift and Queen. The movies she enjoys watching are romantic comedies and horror movies.

“Colegio Menor needs a voice and not just a voice to say what the people want to hear but what they need to hear,” said Maria Jose.

She thinks that this year, Colegio Menor is changing for good. She sees people are getting more involved in aspects of school, such as the school spirit, and that the change in principals is creating a positive change in school.

Maria Jose is very smart and has a way of making people comfortable. She also likes to make new friends and get to know people. Her favorite way of making friends is by talking to someone and getting to know them and taking the risk of knowing someone.

She is a caring person, who truly cares about the people she loves. Jose has one sister, Maria Julia, and she’s eight years old.

Maria Jose thinks of herself as an empathetic person, easy to talk to, and has an open mind. She describes herself as a perfectionist, because she likes her things to be organized.

When she grows up she wants to be an actress on Broadway or study architecture. When she finishes school and maybe an interior design minor, she wants to travel to Italy to enjoy the vineyards and the country.
